Antique Indigo Katazome Cotton

A small piece of antique indigo katazome stencil-dyed cotton from the early 20th century, featuring a traditional shippou-tsunagi pattern. The shippou-tsunagi is a classic Japanese geometric design of overlapping circles, forming a continuous interlocking motif that symbolises unending harmony and connections.

This particular piece showcases a slightly twisted variation of the pattern, with a predominance of white, undyed areas over indigo, an unusual style known as jishiro

It is in good condition.
