Antique Large Somewake Cotton Furoshiki
A large cotton 'somewake furoshiki' wrapping cloth from the early 20th century. 'Somewake' refers to the technique of dyeing fabric diagonally in two different colors, and this cloth features grey and brown using the rice paste resist dyeing technique. One corner has a mandarin orange design family crest, while the other corner has 'seigaiha' wave and plover motifs.
It is in good vintage condition with some signs of use and a mend.
