Vintage Men's Indigo Kasuri Cotton Haori

A men's indigo 'shosei-gasuri' cotton haori from the mid 20th century. 'Shosei-gasuri' is a type of 'kasuri' ikat weave that was popular among 'shosei,' who were academic students or writers back in the old days. It usually features small, intricate kasuri motifs. This haori has a plain weave fine silk lining with a 'gourd' pattern, one of the auspicious motifs in Japan. It is in good vintage condition with no major flaws.

Haori is a traditional Japanese outerwear garment, similar to a jacket or cardigan, worn over a kimono. It features an open straight neck, providing a relaxed fit.
